What to Wear This Spring and What NOT to Wear This Spring
It’s time to trade in your bean boots for your TOMS because spring is right around the corner! A couple warm days at Fisher have resulted in some of the cutest outfits worn by our students, and some not so cute outfits. If you don’t follow some trendy boards on Pinterest, you may be in need of some help. Learn what’s in, what’s out, and what should never come back. Ever.
What’s In:
Converse
These are cute in basically every outfit. Even with dresses, like Demi Lovato once advocated (listen: La La Land). Purchase these for only $50 and get so many uses out of them.
Light washed jeans
The perfect clothing item to tell everyone around you that you’re ready for spring. These are cute with rips and without and look great with every color top. As cheap as $30 at American Eagle and so many possible outfits.
Soft Pants
This 8th wonder of the world got really popular last year and thank God I stocked up on them. These are the most comfortable pants you can own. They’re made in countless different patterns so they can be worn for any occasion. Pair them with a loose top and gladiators and you’ve got yourself the perfect outfit for class.
Over-sized sweaters
For the chillier days, these sweaters keep you warm without having to break out a jacket. Because really, who likes wearing jackets in the spring?
Booties
Booties are an absolute essential to your Spring wardrobe. These can be worn anywhere, from class to the bars to the mall and much more. They come in different colors and fabrics, so check out DSW for the most affordable and trendy pairs.
Fedora’s
Personally, I probably wouldn’t sport a fedora to class, but these are a vacation necessity. They’re a new way to hide greasy hair and still look great. Everybody needs a cute hat for their not-so-great hair days.
Kimonos
These are a fun way to spice up a boring outfit. They come in all different colors and shapes and can be worn as a cardigan or a fun bathing suit cover-up on vacation. Forever 21 is sure to have cute and affordable kimonos for every girl’s wardrobe.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WEAR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. Crop Tops
2. Short Shorts
3. Combat boots
4. Moccasins
5. Tight skirts
6. Patterned leggings
These styles are out and some were actually never even in. Trade in your short shorts for high wasted shorts or soft shorts (similar to soft pants). Leave your combat boots in the closet for next fall and only be caught wearing your moccasins to the dining hall. Throw out your tight “going out” skirts and pick up a couple skater skirts to wear with your new booties. And forget patterned leggings ever existed, unless you have a rave or Steve Aoki concert to attend in the near future.
