1. Use Buzzwords:

Employers will most likely be looking at many other resumes along with yours. Using buzzwords or words that directly relate to the job description will help your resume stand out. Check out the company’s website and see what their goals are. Try to relate those goals to your own personal experience and include those keywords in your resume!

2. Prioritize the resume content:

Put what is most important first! An employer may only read the first half of a resume before they decide to toss or keep!

3. Write according to the organization:

A one-size fits all resume is the wrong route to go. It is not okay to lie on a resume, however, you can add or delete things according to the company/organization job description.

4. Computer friendly:

As we all know the world is moving to digital! Make sure that your resume reaches your employer digitally exactly how you formatted it.

1. Do not make it too visually busy:

Use simple, size 12, readable font.

2. Describing "duties" instead of "accomplishments":

Do not just list duties of past jobs and experiences. List what you accomplished!

3. Running it too long or cutting it too short:

There is no set length that a resume should be. It can absolutely be longer than a page if it is necessary. However, do not include extra information that is not valuable to the employer.

4. Grammatical Errors:

This is an obvious one!
