Fall Fun in Rochester
Now that the warm summer weather is starting to leave us, it’s time to take advantage of the cool fall air and get outside for some fall fun. Fortunately, here in Rochester, there are many activities and events going on that are inexpensive and entertaining. Below are a few things going on that are definitely worth the trip!
Navigate Through A Corn Maze
Taking an afternoon with friends to have a race through a corn maze can be really fun. One maze in the area that is sure to please is just down the road at Long Acre Farms, in Macedon. Visiting this maze is more than just a walk amongst the corn; it’s an intense hunt to find the exit. Gather a group of friends and race through the five acre maze this fall, it won’t disappoint! The maze is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Admission to the maze (and a few other activities) is just $11. Ready, set, go!
Haunted Hayrides
Voted the “#1 Halloween Attraction in Western and Central NY”, Haunted Hayrides of Greater Rochester is sure to scare. The site is said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity, and not for the faint hearted. Be sure to go soon, as they close for the season October 26th. It is open Thursdays, 7pm-9:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-10:30pm, and Sundays 7pm-9:30pm. Pay $15 plus a service fee at all area Wegmans locations, or pay $17 at the door on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. On Saturdays, pay $20 plus a service fee if you buy from Wegmans, or $22 at the door. Cash or check only. Beware!
Enjoy Nature
Head to Whittier Fruit Farm in Rochester to pick some apples! Open weekdays 10am-6pm, and weekends 10am-pm. You can pick thirty-two different varieties of apples on easy-to-pick from trees, yum! Or you can travel to Bristol Mountain in nearby Canandaigua to take a ride on the chair lift and experience some beautiful fall foliage. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-4pm until October 26th. It is only $10 per person, such a low cost for a truly unique experience!
